I received my Bachelor of Science in 1978 and my DVM in 1981 from Iowa State University in Ames Iowa. In 1982 I established the Brownsville Small Animal Clinic in Dr. Griffith’s practice building and in 1988, moved the practice to Lomira.

After spending my early years in Cibeque, Arizona where my parents were teachers on the Apache Reservation, I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin.  I received a BS in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, I worked in mitochondrial research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for a year before applying to vet school.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2009 with my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. I worked at a small and exotic animal hospital in Minnesota for 2 years. Then, I moved for 1 year to Terre Haute, Indiana for my husband’s internship placement where I held 2 part-time positions at small animal hospitals and volunteered 2 days per week at the local shelter.
