Veterinary Services

Exceptional veterinary care is one of our highest priorities at Veterinary Village and International Canine Semen Bank. We are committed to providing the best possible care to pets and the most compassionate service to pet owners! We offer general veterinary services for the regular care and maintenance of pets, as well as specialized services for pets whose needs go beyond basic health care. We invite you to click on the services that interest you in the lists below to learn more.

Pet Dental

Oral health is one of the most important aspects of your pet’s overall physical health, and the team at Veterinary Village takes dental care very seriously! We examine each of our patients during their annual or biannual wellness exam to determine if their dental health needs indicate the necessity of a professional dental cleaning.

A professional dental cleaning is performed under anesthesia for your pet’s safety and comfort. During this procedure, we remove tartar and plaque buildup on the surfaces of teeth and below the gum line, polish surfaces of teeth to discourage future buildup, and perform any necessary specialized dental services, including x-rays, extractions, etc. For your pet’s ongoing oral health, we recommend continued, at-home dental care on a regular basis.

Pet Spay and Neuter

If your pet is not being used for breeding, we may recommend spaying or neutering. The “right age” to spay or neuter (Link to page on this when created) no longer has one answer for all pets and all owners. Recent research suggests delaying these procedures into adulthood may have health benefits such as reduced rates of cancer, joint disease, obesity, thyroid disease, and urinary incontinence. We perform spay and neuter surgeries at our facility and recommend pets have this surgery no earlier than 6 months of age. We also offer ovary sparing spays (a procedure in which ovaries are retained but the uterus is removed for birth control) and vasectomies (a procedure in which testes are retained but the vas deferens is interrupted for birth control). Each pet and family has their own special needs. Please contact us for a discussion about your pet’s individual needs.

Pet Vaccines

Vaccinating your pet is important to their lifelong health! Our pets may come into contact with a variety of pests and diseases, and vaccination is the only way to ensure their safety from these things. We create personalized vaccination plans for each pet who comes through our door, basing our recommendations on their lifestyle, age, condition, and personal needs.

Pet Wellness Care

Ongoing wellness care is the best way to keep track of your pet’s health. We recommend annual wellness examinations for all pets, and biannual wellness exams for some pets, including seniors or those with health conditions that require maintenance. During your pet’s wellness examination, we will perform a complete nose-to-tail physical check-up, identifying any areas that are causes for concern. We also use this time to consider changes in your pet’s health or weight since their last check-up, discuss concerns that you may have about your pet’s health or behavior, and recommend any lifestyle adjustments that may be needed for their treatment.
