In Case of an Emergency

In the event of an emergency during our normal office hours please call ahead and proceed directly to our practice at N11591 Columbia Drive, Lomira. This is the southeast corner of Highways 41 and 49.

Our doctors cover our own emergencies at most times. We refer to one of several emergency clinics when we cannot be available to meet your needs. The Doctor is on call most evenings until 10 PM, on weekends (7 PM on Sundays) and most holidays (except Christmas). Please call 920-269-4072 to contact the emergency Doctor.

Please leave a phone number that will accept an incoming call from a blocker caller ID number and keep your phone line available so the Doctor can reach you on their first attempt. If you do not receive a return call within 15 minutes, please call again. If the Doctor is with another emergency or in surgery, there may be a delay while they complete the care of their current patient.

For after hour Reproduction assistance, please call 920-269-4072 and explain your needs to Nancy. The doctor will return your call as soon as possible.

How do I know if this is an emergency?
CALL 920-269-4072 FOR INSTRUCTIONS

Breathing Difficulties
Labored breathing—coupled with pale or bluish mucous membranes of the mouth and gums—may indicate heart failure, lung disease, or a major chemical imbalance.

Serious Bleeding
Apply direct pressure to the wound and seek medical help immediately.

Major Trauma
If your pet has fallen, been struck by a moving vehicle, or suffers multiple wounds from an unseen accident, see a veterinarian . . . even if your pet initially appears unharmed.

Head Tilt or Seizure
Both of these symptoms may indicate a central nervous system problem that requires immediate attention.

Lacerations and Bite Wounds
Wounds that penetrate the skin are contaminated and may become infected within several hours. Many wounds that seem minor on the surface often hide more extensive injuries to vital tissues below.

Loss of Consciousness
Illness or injury can make your pet too weak to stand. Neurological problems can impair or prevent normal movement and further attempts at walking may result in even greater injury.

Poisoning
When you know or suspect that your pet has ingested a poisonous substance, call your veterinarian or emergency facility immediately to receive emergency instructions and to assess the need for additional medical treatment

Whelping: If you notice labor that lasts longer than 1 hour without a pup being delivered or a green vaginal discharge PRIOR to the delivery of the first pup or kitten, please call for assistance.
